“We need a mobile app, our leading competitor has one and we need to compete in the digital marketplace.” That’s it. That was the ask.

This was 2012 and I was a “design team of one”, recruiting and training junior designer(s) while juggling business and development expectations. Turned into one of my favorite projects and a long term highly successful client relationship for Infosys.

Creating a Best-in-Class Omni-channel Beauty App

I led the end-to-end design of a strategic mobile app to compete with top beauty platforms, a project focused on bridging the gap between physical retail and digital experiences. My role was to deliver a user-centered product that not only met business goals but also thrived in a highly competitive market.

  • Significant Improvement in Retail Conversion: The new mobile app drove a notable increase in sales by creating a seamless shopping journey that integrated both in-store and online touch-points. This omni-channel experience made it easier for customers to discover products, check availability, and make purchases, directly boosting conversion rates.
  • Elevated Brand Recognition and Engagement: The app immediately established strong brand recognition, becoming a go-to platform for beauty enthusiasts. Its strategic design and user-centric features led to a sustained 5-star rating on the Apple App Store, earning it the title of "best in class beauty app" from its 2012 launch until it was sunset in 2019.
